Ionization Profile Monitor (IPM) is a devices which uses effect of rest gas ionization by the beam to reconstruct the transverse beam profile. The IPMs can be can be classified depending on the readout type:

  • devices measuring electrons
  • devices measuring ions
  • devices with optical readout
  • devices with electrical readout
  • ...
