Cave HTC

Introduction

Cave C hosts R3B/Nustar collaboration experiments. The goal of the collaboration is to study reactions with radioactive beams. The beam can be delivered to Cave C using one of the following three paths:

  1. via Fragmentseparator
  2. via Pion target
  3. directly from SIS18

The beamline shares most of elements with HTD. The split is only at the end. Experiments in Cave C belong to NUSTAR R3B collaboration.

Contact persons are: Haik Simon, Daniel Koerper and Tom Aumann.

Beams

In 2019 HTC took 16O beam at energies 450, 500, 550, 600, 650 AMeV. Beams were coming directly from SIS (via TH branch) and had very small intensities (105).

Optics

  1. via Fragment Separator (SIS18_TS_HTC_STANDARD)

  2. direct from SIS-18 (SIS18_TH_HTC_STANDARD)

  3. direct from SIS-18 (SIS18_TH_HTC_LEGACY)
