Beam losses
The goal of this study is to simulate beam losses along the beamline and compare them to measurements.
2018.05.04:
In this test 10k 107Ag43+ ions with rigidity of 18.5 Tm were generated with twiss parameters as described in SIS18 extraction page. The 1-sigma emittances are: horizontal= 0.5 mm*mrad, vertical 2 mm*mrad (2x more than in Sebastian's study). The beam ellipse distribution in canonical phase space are shown here (bi-gaussian in both cases):
A standard sequence without element misalingment was used (improve). Description of geometrical aperture is preliminary. Optics based on the pion optics is implemented, except all steerers are set to zero (improve). Tracking starts in PSE (improve). On the plots below the beam envelope is marked with red colour, the aperture is green and loss location is marked with blue bars. There is no distinction between horizontal and vertical losses. The transmission for this run is 97.4%.
