Injection to Cryring
Introduction
Cryring is a small storage ring with circumference of 54.17 meter (half of ESR circumference). It has arrived to GSI in 2013, assembly took time until 2017 when beam commissioning has started. It has 12 dipoles, 16 main quadrupoles and correctors. It contains electron cooler used also for recombination experiment.
Beam can be injected to Cryring from a local source or from ESR. Local injector generates beam with energy of 300 keV/u and maximum beam energy can be 14 MeV/u. In 2016 the injection from ESR has been successfully commissioned, but Cryring was not ready to accept the beam. To see details: Cryring OLOG, dates around 2016-07-11. Beam was observed at screen GHTYDF2.

Beams
Cryring will be used to deccelerate ESR beams.
Optics
Here is theoretical optics ESR_CRY as prepared by Sergei Litvinov. The plot of the optics functions should not be trasted as lot of data are missing in MADX.

In the OLOG there are entries with good settings. One, claimed good, is so called 'weak' optics (by Sergei?). It is already in Context of Cryring. The proposed strength values are:

Beam setup 2019.12.17:
- Beam from ESR, fast extraction at 13 MeV/u, 40Ar18+.
- The first dipole after ESR (GTT1MU0) has large influence on the beam transfer. Set it up carefully!
- Correction on the second dipole (GTT1MU1) is 30 mrad! Theory value must be wrong (-14.472 deg).
- this is why it took 3 hours to go to GTT1DF6V... (screenshot tcl1031, 21:25)
Beam setup 2019.12.19:
Beam transfer ESR->Cryring successful.
