HEST/Controls

(return)

Introduction

Since 2018 HEST is controlled by LSA. Controls wiki (internal):

https://www-acc.gsi.de/wiki/Machines/MachineHEST

Logically HEST is divided into segments (particle transfers). Typically a segment starts after one switching dipole and ends after the next switching dipole.

Definitions

  1. Particle Transfer is a group of devices with the timing (the same timing zone). Typically they extend between two switching dipoles, they include upstream dipole.
  2. Accelerator Zone is a sub-section of Particle Transfer, with additional division in the location of a stripper or internal target.
  3. Beam process -
  4. Beam pattern
  5. Beam Production Chain (BPC)

Applications

  1. expert application to read grids: dgx (launched from terminal), developer: Andre Petit
  2. expert application for pneumatic drives: pla (terminal on asl74X, /common/usr/sd/bin) developer: Rainer Haseitl
  3. expert application for stepper motors: ds
