- KO extraction to HHD with Argon 18+, 300 MeV/u investigation of spill structure.
- Observation: momentum increases during KO extraction. This is the reason for beam movement on the screens. But why?
- Ag beam (isotope 107) from Nord source, accelerated to 11.05 MeV/u in UNILAC, stripped to 45+, accelerated to in SIS18 1050 MeV/u (13.86 Tm), intensity out of the box: 5E8 particles.
- checking HHD, nice beam in all screens.
- copying HHD setting to HAD machine.
- optimizing beam to HADES using MADX tool
- 18:35 Radiation alarm, probably Biorem "NE-5 aussen Ost", losses were somewhere right before or right after the pion target.
Paramodi save at radiation alarm: 2018-12-01_18-46-11_SIS18_SLOW_HADES_20181201_161118_radalarm.C1.txt
- resetting the alarm, reducing the intensity in UNILAC down to about 4E7 particles.
typical BioRem readings:
- beam optimized down to GHADDF3, trying to focus to minimize sweep
- Paramodi settings:
2018-12-01_20-21-20_SIS18_SLOW_HADES_20181201_161118.C1.txt
- transmission through beam line almost 100%
transmission SIS18->GTE1DI... 5.6E6/1.5E7 particles = ~20% only
Hansi optimizes resonant extraction, paramodi save with 70% transmission: 2018-12-01_21-32-23_SIS18_SLOW_HADES_20181201_161118.C1.txt
